My Online Marketing Is Moving Forward In 2009
First of all let me say if anyone tells you that working online is an easy way to make money you may want to get away from them really fast. Knowing what I know today from online marketing it is not easy and it may very well be the most difficult work I have ever been involved with. At least that’s the way it has been from my experience. In talking with and reading about most hugely successful marketers it didn’t come easy for them either. From what I have observed from the highly successful folks doing business on the Internet they all have one thing in common and after almost four long years of being on the computer as much as 18 hours many days. I’ve finally gotten it through my thick skull that you simply can’t do it alone.
Speaking of doing it alone. It can be a very lonely life and I’m going to expound upon this. What I mean is don’t make the mistake of telling your friends and family that you plan on making a living on the Internet. It’s best to keep it to yourself unless you have gotten to at least an upper 5 figure or 6 figure income and have quit a full time job. This way you will be able to prove the fruits of your labor.
I made the mistake of letting my intentions be known and let me tell you it’s been grief I really would rather have not went through. Trust me your friends and family will not understand. I’ve heard it all from chasing dreams to If it sounds to good to be true it usually is. My favorite one is at least working a full time job is a steady paycheck and if you want to make more money work harder and get a promotion. You can’t tell your friends and family that all the jobs out there are limited and have caps. For example if you’re paid hourly lets say you make $100 an hour, as we know there is only 24 hours in one day, so the most you could make would be $2400 for the day and that’s if you don’t sleep that day. With marketing say you send an email out to your list of 5,000 buyers with a really good product that you have priced at lets say $47 dollars. Out of the 5,000 people that you put this offer in front of say 100 respond there you just made $4700 bucks now that doesn’t account for affiliate sales, tell a friend and all future sales. All of this can build momentum like a snowball rolling down hill. There is no caps or limits you could potentially make several hundred thousand dollars off of one product. With that being said in the next chapter we will get in to some of the obstacles that you may need to overcome when you are an Internet marketer unless you do it right.
Let me point out some of the obstacles but before we look at that, I want you to know later on in this post there is some really good news and if you take my advice you won’t have to endure what myself and many others have been through. Did you know that the FTC can and will shut you down if they feel you have violated any laws? Not being aware is no excuse as far as the FTC is concerned. Look up Frank Kern on Google and check out his story see how he got shut down over night. That little mistake caused him to completely leave online marketing for around 2 years or near. Not only that he was fined and lost all he had made online. The example above is just the tip of the iceberg.
I’m going to explain what needs to be done in order to be successful online and as you will see it just is not possible for a one person show. You need traffic, website(s), autoresponder(s), list building, payment processor(s), SEO, salescopy, domain, hosting, squeeze pages, article marketing and under each of these items there is a maze of other things that needs done. I haven’t even covered the software you need to get things done. You can get most of the software free but most of the free stuff is limited on what you can and can not do.
The above is some but not nearly all you will need but don’t get discouraged as I said before there is some good news coming later in this post.
My advice to you concerning payment processors is to have the minimum of two and really I would suggest three. Here is why; many folks have been shut down in the middle of launching a new product because of a huge spike in sales and had an account frozen due to suspicious behavior. So it’s best to contact them prior to a major launch and sometimes that doesn’t work and they still pull the plug. That’s why I recommend having more than one and a backup in place.
If that’s not enough you better have a good accountant and lawyer on hand to deal with taxes and or any litigation.
Something else to consider is spam complaints and with just one innocent email to someone you can be shutdown in an instant and may never get back online. My advice to you is get a good autoresponder that has double optin such as Get Resonse or Aweber. They charge around $20 a month but are reputable and can deal with spam issues which you don’t want to even get involved with.
Here is the good news I am going to change my business model in 2009 moving forward and you can go along for the ride. Here is the big secret that’s not really a secret but I just couldn’t see the forest for all of them trees in the way! Like I said earlier I have followed and watched several hugely successful marketers and all of them have this one thing in common and the secret is they have a SYSTEM in place.
The system is a well oiled machine and here is a little bit about what I am implementing in 2009. The nuts and bolts without revealing the entire system is outsourcing and leveraging, cutting loose what doesn’t fit with my particular business model and keeping what works. After this system is implemented and is tested and fine tuned I will release it to the public at a cost not yet determined. Of course all my subscribers will have the first opportunity to pick my system up. If you aren’t a subscriber go ahead and signup now. You are probably thinking this is going to be one of those big high dollar courses and I can tell you it will be very reasonably priced. The value that you will be able to get out of it will be 10 or 20 times what I will charge for it. The satisfaction of knowing I’m helping people will more than make up for the low cost. When it ends up being what I know it will be then with all of my hard work I should get something monetary.
