My Review About Pingbacks/Trackbacks

Lot’s of folks are already using the feature pingback and trackback. Basically my understanding of what it does is help finding/writing quality content to post to your blog and getting quality links to your blog. I have just now started using this feature and as a matter of fact this is my first post using it. I sure hope I am doing this correctly! If not maybe someone reading this can point me in the right direction :-) .  You can check out this blog post to have it explained much better than I can explain it:

Do We Really Need All of These Videos?

Contrary to popular belief about needing video for everything under the sun I disageee. In my humble opinion we don’t need video for everything. These long 1 hour sales videos I can’t hardly sit through them. Don’t you hate it when you go to a product launch and have to sit through 5 videos or more only to find out that the cost is way more than you really want to pay for said product. What happened to the good old days when you could scroll to the bottom of a sales page check on the price and decide within a minute or two whether this is for you or not?

Some of you are probably gasping holding your mouths and saying he is dissing our wonderful video. Let me state video is wonderful and it can and should be used in it’s proper context. I just think that folks have run wild with vids and they aren’t being used in their proper context. When I go to a landing page for instance I don’t want to watch an hour long video about the free report I would like to read. I mean come on I wouldn’t mind looking at 2-4 minutes of video for a free report but if it’s gonna last an hour I’m going to pass on that particular offer!

For goodness sakes I quit watching TV because it seemed to me like such a waste of time. Right now as I am typing this post my TV is off and it will probably stay off for several days. I admit I am a huge fan of 24 and the Sarah Conner Chronicles and that’s about all except for professional football and the occasional nature show that’s it for me and tv.

Please, Please… Do me a favor video casters. Don’t try and completely replace the written word. Many people including myself would rather read a report of what you have instead of watching an hour long video. If your product is video only… you can expect a loss in sales. So for that next product please make sure that you include a printed version I might be the first one in line to purchase it. If it’s an all video product sorry but you can count me out.

I would love to read your comments on this post. Let me know if you liked it or if you think I’m full of it. Your comments are important to me so let me have it with both barrels!

“Comics for Online Markets”

My friend just sent me this link http://runurl.com/xx.php?osk and it cracked me up. As an Internet Marketer, you may feel like nobody outside your online buddies understand exactly what you do all day at home. And, sometimes you feel a bit like an alien trying to tell people stories about your day-to-day life.

Well, Jimmy D. Brown hit a home run. He’s created 15 comics about what it’s like to be an Internet Marketer. Some will make you laugh out loud and some will make you groan, but all are worth taking a minute to peek at. Here is an example of one:

Totally free and totally funny.
